22 Jul National Tree Day 2013
This Sunday 28th July is Planet Ark’s National Tree Day. This day provides a great opportunity to meet with others in your community and engage in a tree planting activity in your area.
This year Planet Ark are also promoting the benefits of planting in your own backyard which I think is a great addition and on par with the Improve your Plant/Life Balance message! It doesn’t matter if it is a balcony, terrace or rooftop -the main message this year is to “Get Outside and Grow”.
It’s not too late to register an event or to find one happening near you! You might even find local garden centres offering discounts on plant purchases as part of the Tree Day celebrations.
I will be at the City of Sydney Tree Day event on Sunday from 10am-1pm doing presentations on topics such as vertical gardens and edible gardens. Come and say hello if you are in the area!
